Last reviewed: 12 September 2026

1. About Kerry Cares

Kerry Cares is a CQC-registered homecare agency, operated by Kerry Moran, providing care and support to people in their own homes.

Kerry Cares was registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on 6 August 2025.

CQC Location ID: 1-24233950876

Kerry Cares provides care for adults aged 65 and over and has particular experience and specialisms in supporting people living with dementia and physical disabilities.

Kerry Cares is registered with the CQC to provide the regulated activity of Personal Care.

Our aim is to provide safe, compassionate, respectful and person-centred care while promoting dignity, independence, choice, privacy and wellbeing.

2. CQC Registration

Kerry Cares operates within the scope and conditions of its CQC registration and the applicable legislation and regulations governing the provision of care in England.

The regulated activity for which Kerry Cares is registered is:

Personal Care

Kerry Cares’ registration includes the following condition:

The registered provider must not provide personal care in a specialist service to people whose presenting need for care or support is as a direct result of the person’s learning disability and/or autism at or from Kerry Cares.

Kerry Cares will not provide services outside the scope or conditions of its CQC registration.

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care services in England.

3. Services Provided

Kerry Cares provides homecare and personal care services based on each individual’s assessed needs and agreed care plan.

Depending on the individual’s needs, services may include:

  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Assistance with bathing, washing and toileting
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Support with meals and hydration
  • Dementia care and support
  • Mobility support
  • Assistance with daily routines
  • Medication support where agreed and appropriate
  • Companionship and social support
  • Support to maintain independence
  • Assistance with appointments
  • Shopping and essential errands
  • Light household support where agreed
  • Respite and support for family members
  • Other appropriate care and support agreed as part of the individual’s care plan

Kerry Cares will only provide care and support that can be delivered safely, appropriately and within the scope of our CQC registration and the competence and training of our care staff.

4. Care Assessment

Before care begins, Kerry Cares will assess the individual’s care and support needs.

The assessment will help us understand the person’s requirements, preferences, routines, communication needs, risks and desired outcomes.

The information gathered will be used to develop an appropriate care plan.

Care needs will be reviewed whenever necessary, particularly where there is a significant change in the individual’s health, circumstances or level of support required.

5. Care Plans

Each person receiving care will have an appropriate care plan based on their individual needs.

The care plan may include information about:

  • Personal care needs
  • Dementia and cognitive support
  • Mobility
  • Medication
  • Nutrition and hydration
  • Communication
  • Personal preferences
  • Daily routines
  • Risks and safety
  • Emergency arrangements
  • Family and representative involvement
  • Individual goals and desired outcomes

The person receiving care will be involved in their care planning wherever possible.

Where appropriate, family members, next of kin or authorised representatives may also be involved.

6. Person-Centred Care

Kerry Cares believes that every person should be treated as an individual.

We aim to provide care that respects each person’s:

  • Dignity
  • Privacy
  • Choices
  • Preferences
  • Independence
  • Personal and cultural needs
  • Communication needs
  • Rights and wishes

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that care is delivered in a way that is appropriate to the individual’s needs and preferences.

7. Dementia Care

Kerry Cares specialises in supporting people living with dementia.

We understand that dementia can affect memory, communication, behaviour, mobility and decision-making.

Our approach is to provide compassionate, patient and consistent support that recognises the individual rather than focusing solely on their condition.

Where an individual’s needs change, their care plan will be reviewed where appropriate.

If an individual’s needs become greater than Kerry Cares can safely provide, we will discuss this with the individual and/or their authorised representative and, where appropriate, involve relevant healthcare or social care professionals.

8. Consent, Capacity and Decision-Making

Kerry Cares will respect an individual’s right to make their own decisions wherever they have the capacity to do so.

Having dementia or another cognitive condition does not automatically mean that a person lacks mental capacity.

Where there are concerns about an individual’s ability to make a particular decision, Kerry Cares will act in accordance with applicable legislation and relevant guidance.

Where appropriate, we may work with an attorney, deputy, advocate, family member or other legally authorised representative.

9. Medication

Where medication support forms part of the agreed care service, Kerry Cares will follow the individual’s care plan and applicable medication procedures.

Care staff will only undertake medication-related tasks for which they are appropriately trained and authorised.

Kerry Cares does not prescribe medication or make medical decisions on behalf of clients.

Any concerns relating to medication will be dealt with appropriately and, where necessary, referred to the relevant healthcare professional, family member or emergency service.

10. Safeguarding

Kerry Cares takes the safety and wellbeing of people receiving care seriously.

We have a responsibility to act when we have concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination or other safeguarding risks.

Where appropriate, concerns may be reported to social services, healthcare professionals, emergency services, safeguarding authorities or other relevant organisations.

Information may be shared without consent where there is a lawful and necessary reason to protect an individual or another person from harm.

11. Staff and Continuity of Care

Kerry Cares will take reasonable steps to ensure that care staff are appropriately recruited, trained, supported and competent to carry out their responsibilities.

Where possible, we aim to provide continuity of care, particularly for individuals living with dementia.

However, we cannot guarantee that the same care worker will always attend due to sickness, holidays, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.

Where a change of care worker is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the person providing care has access to the relevant care information.

12. Respectful Behaviour

Everyone involved with Kerry Cares is expected to treat one another with dignity and respect.

Kerry Cares does not tolerate:

  • Violence
  • Abuse
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Harassment
  • Intimidation
  • Discrimination
  • Verbal or physical abuse towards staff

Where behaviour creates a serious risk to the client, care worker or another person, Kerry Cares may need to review the care arrangements and take appropriate action.

13. Health and Safety in the Home

As care is provided in people’s homes, Kerry Cares expects the environment to be reasonably safe for both the individual and care workers.

Appropriate risk assessments may be carried out where necessary.

Clients and their representatives should inform Kerry Cares about any known risks within the home.

Where a serious risk cannot reasonably be managed, Kerry Cares may need to review the care arrangements.

14. Access to the Home

The client or their authorised representative is responsible for ensuring that Kerry Cares care workers can safely access the property at the agreed times.

Where keys, access codes or other arrangements are required, these should be provided securely.

Kerry Cares should be informed as soon as possible of any changes to access arrangements.

15. Pets

Clients should inform Kerry Cares about any pets living in or regularly present at the property.

Where a pet creates a health, safety or allergy risk to a care worker, Kerry Cares may request that appropriate arrangements are made while care is being provided.

16. Fees and Payment

The cost of care will be agreed with the client and/or their authorised representative before services begin.

The agreed fee will depend on the type, frequency and duration of care provided.

All charges and payment arrangements will be explained and agreed before care commences.

Any changes to agreed charges will be communicated to the client or their authorised representative with reasonable notice.

17. Cancellation of Care

If a scheduled care visit needs to be cancelled, the client or their representative should provide as much notice as reasonably possible.

Kerry Cares will take individual circumstances into consideration when dealing with cancellations.

Where a cancellation policy or charge applies, this will be explained and agreed as part of the individual care arrangement.

18. Holidays and Temporary Changes

Clients or their representatives should inform Kerry Cares as soon as reasonably possible if care is temporarily not required, for example because of a holiday, hospital admission or other circumstances.

Following a hospital admission or significant change in an individual’s health or care needs, Kerry Cares may need to review the care arrangements before services resume.

19. Ending the Care Service

The client, their authorised representative or Kerry Cares may request to end the care arrangement.

Where possible, reasonable notice should be provided to allow appropriate alternative arrangements to be made.

Kerry Cares may need to suspend or end services immediately in exceptional circumstances where continuing to provide care would create a serious or unacceptable risk to the client, staff or another person, or where the service can no longer safely meet the individual’s needs.

Where possible, concerns will be discussed before services are ended.

20. Changes in Care Needs

Care needs can change over time, particularly for people living with dementia or other progressive conditions.

If an individual’s needs change significantly, Kerry Cares may reassess the care arrangements.

If the individual’s needs fall outside the services Kerry Cares can safely provide or outside the scope of our CQC registration, we will discuss this with the individual and/or their representative.

Where appropriate, we may recommend involvement from healthcare or social care professionals.

21. Privacy and Confidentiality

Kerry Cares respects the privacy and confidentiality of everyone receiving care.

Personal information will be collected, stored and used in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

Information will only be accessed or shared where there is a legitimate and lawful reason to do so.

Please refer to the Kerry Cares Privacy Policy for further information about how personal information is collected, stored, used and protected.

22. Complaints and Feedback

Kerry Cares welcomes feedback and takes all concerns seriously.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of the care or service provided, please raise your concern with Kerry Cares as soon as possible.

We will listen to your concerns, investigate them appropriately and take reasonable steps to resolve the matter.

Clients and their representatives have the right to raise concerns externally where appropriate.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates Kerry Cares’ registered care activities.

23. Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Kerry Cares will maintain confidentiality when dealing with information about clients and their families.

However, confidentiality does not prevent information from being shared where there is a lawful and necessary reason to do so.

This may include circumstances involving:

  • Safeguarding
  • Serious risk of harm
  • Medical emergencies
  • Healthcare provision
  • Legal obligations
  • Regulatory requirements
  • The protection of the client or another person

Only information that is relevant and reasonably necessary will be shared.

24. Liability

Kerry Cares will take reasonable care when providing its services.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under UK law.

Kerry Cares cannot accept responsibility for circumstances that are outside our reasonable control.

Clients and their representatives are expected to provide accurate and relevant information about care needs, risks, medication and circumstances so that appropriate care can be provided.

25. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

Kerry Cares may review and update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, CQC requirements, our services or how we operate.

Where a change materially affects the care arrangement, reasonable notice will be provided.

The current version of these Terms and Conditions will apply to the services provided by Kerry Cares.
